THE KEY TO UNLOCKING FUTURE POSSIBILITIES NOW
Introducing Our Real-Time Decision Support System (RT-DSS)
We pioneered the use of the RT-DSS framework to optimize network operations. An RT-DSS is composed of three layers:
- OBSERVE Layer (aka Turn on the Lights): we use a sensor network to get an understanding of what is happening now in your network.
- PREDICT Layer: powered by a hybrid Digital Twin we forecast how your network hydraulics will behave to different control strategies.
- ACT Layer: a decision engine uses an optimization algorithm to find the most optimal operational strategy that minimizes overflows, flooding, and energy consumption.
THE PULSE OF YOUR NETWORK
How a digital Twin works
Our Digital Twin is a digital model of your network. Like traditional hydraulic models, it is able to model flows, levels, and pressures. Unlike a traditional hydraulic model our Digital Twin runs in real-time and uses sensor data to understand current conditions and learn how the network behaves.
We utilize a hybrid Digital Twin which makes use of two technologies:
- Physics-based model: which uses physics equations to represent the network. It allows us to simulate complex behavior in well-understood parts of the network.
- Data-driven model: which uses a machine learning model to represent the network. It allows us to simulate parts of the network that are better calibrated using sensor data and allows us to run simulations faster.
Prevent Overflows, Save Energy
INFUSE INTELLIGENCE IN YOUR NETWORK.HOW OUR DECISION ENGINE WORKS
Your network is a transportation network. Instead of moving cars, it moves water. Our Decision Engine uses a Stress Avoidance Routing optimization algorithm to avoid “traffic”:
- Find the network segments that are or will be near capacity or “congested” or stressed.
- Find all the possibilities for water to get to your treatment facility: either through alternate routes or by waiting for traffic to alleviate.
- Activate valves, penstocks, gates, pump stations and other controllable assets to avoid the traffic or stressed areas which out causing a spill.
As a result, your network maximizes its capacity while reducing overflows, flooding and energy consumption.
